This tip is for anybody else who finds inspiration in seeing other people being creative. While it may not help everyone, it definitely helps me when I am stuck in a rut, and hopefully, someone else out there can relate, as well.
There have been many times where I knew I wanted to do something creative (Whether that be drawing or writing), but even when I had the urge, I just couldn't figure out how to get myself inspired. To the point it almost felt like a chore to just grab my sketch book, sit down, and draw.
However, one day, as I was trying to find the motivation to draw, I decided to listen to something while I did. And that same day, a YouTube animator that I really like so happened to post a new video of showing off her sketchbooks.
I was intrigued by the video and since I was planning to draw anyway, I decided to play the video while I was drawing. And as the seconds turned into minutes, I found myself drawing a lot more than I thought I would.
There was just something about seeing someone else's artistic process that just inspired me to do the same with my own characters. Now, of course, I don't mean to copy what the other person does, but if it sparks something in you, like an idea, then your creativity is already being fueled.
This tip has worked wonders for me when it comes to drawing. I find myself doing it every time I want to draw recently. It also helps that I already was subscribed to a lot of animators on YouTube, so this made everything so much easier for me.
It's important to keep in mind, however, that this tip may not work for all skills. I mentioned how it helps me in drawing, however it doesn't work so well with writing. Sure, it may motivate me to write when I watch book YouTubers talk about their book projects and their writing processes, however, as someone who usually reads out what I write, I find listening to someone talk while I try to come up with my own words, can be quite difficult.
So, if you're stuck with no motivation but still have the desire to be creative, maybe give this tip a shot. It may not be for everybody, but it doesn't hurt to try, at least once.
Stay tuned for the next creativity finding tip!
